The celebrated Arditti Quartet, founded nearly thirty years ago in 1974, became known as the authoritative interpreters of contemporary and early 20th century works. Premiere performances of string quartets by composers including Cage, Carter, Kurtág, Ligeti, Stockhausen and Xenakis are linked to the Arditti Quartet. One of the secrets of their success is close collaboration with the composers themselves. In the frame of their Budapest performance, they will play three pieces by Hungarian composers. In addition, they will perform a new piece that can be heard for the first time in Hungary.
