DANUBE RHAPSODY – Europe’s blue ribbon |
| | DIRECTOR: FERENC NOVÁK LEADING CHOREOGRAPHER: ZOLTÁN ZSURÁFSZKI MUSIC: LÁSZLÓ KELEMEN, FERENC KISS, LÁSZLÓ ROSSA
WITH: DANCE THEATRE OF THE HONVÉD ENSEMBLE, BUDAPEST DANCE ENSEMBLE MUSIC: HEGEDŰS ENSEMBLE, GÁZSA ORCHESTRA
| | | The Danube, Europe’s beautiful blue ribbon, has linked peoples and cultures for two millennia. From its source in the Black Forest to the Black Sea, nimble little river craft carried goods up and down the river and with them also the latest music and dance fashions. Danube Rhapsody is a spectacular production, the co-ordinated work of 70 dancers and musicians, the result of the collaboration of three composers and eleven choreographers from countries along the river. Extracts from a film showing regions and towns along the Danube add further colour to the programme. Spectacular dance scenes, customs and 500 beautiful costumes present the rich forms and colours of the culture of eight countries. Don’t miss this unique production with its message of beauty, strength – and friendship. | | | A joint production of the BUDAPEST SPRING FESTIVAL, the INTERNATIONALES DONAUFEST (Ulm) and the HONVÉD ENSEMBLE (An event of the Baden-Württemberg Days.) |
