From earliest times Hungary has attracted visitors from other countries. In past centuries English, French and German travellers wrote with admiration of the Hungarians’ dance, as an expression of the national character.
If it is true that a nation lives in its language, its songs and dances must also be of great importance. These dances are characterised by elegance, poetry and drama, they are unique and highly varied, just like their colourful music or picturesque costumes. The intention of the performance is to show this great variety, the power of the dancers as soloists in a setting emphasising the dignity of the Hungarian dance.
